| “Studying the Juche idea enables us to consider
everything centring on human beings, and obtain the viewpoint of and attitude
to solve things and matters arising in all the human affairs that include
those in international relations, relying on the efforts of the people themselves.” The venue of the European seminar that took place in Paris on October 4, 2003 was filled with the deep and confident voice of Prof. Edmond Jouve at University of Paris V, who is chairman of the European Regional Society for the Study of the Juche Idea (ERSSJI). It was twenty years ago when Prof. Jouve started paying attention to the position and role of the DPRK in the contemporary world, while devoting himself to studying the development problems in the Third World as his scholarly work. Similarly, since the foundation of the ERSSJI in 1985, he has played an important role as its chairman up to now. Prof. Jouve, with his wide influence on the distinguished persons in academic and political circles, coupled with his warm- and light-hearted character, has introduced the Juche idea into the broad progressive and conscientious people in France. In March this year, he was in the front part of the demonstration that was performed in Paris against the US’ attack on Iraq. He stressed: following the US’ policy for going to war does not interest us, the Europeans; Europe should advance along the path of independence. Prof. Jouve, who is desirous of making the Juche idea the strength of the Europeans, has continued to make his positive effort to promote the study and dissemination of the Juche idea from his part of the world. |
